Cast Party Fun

Last night was the cast party for “Walking Across Egypt,” where GMR had a part (Finner) – I went with him to the party after "strike," and had a great time. It was nice to get out of the little log house and be among friends.

I ate good “bad” food, drank a glass of wine, and laughed when Charles’s chair broke and he went flying, beer held up in the air so he could to protect it and not himself! *haw* I thought I'd bust a gut --of course Charles wasn't hurt - which made it all right to laugh me arse off at his flailing about and then as he went KaBoom onto the ground, beer still up in the air...*snick*--I reached over to grab him, and all I grabbed was a handful of flying beer...haw!

Later, karaoke began – aw lawdy be! As I watched and listened (no I didn't sing - oh good gawd, they don't want me to sing), I suddenly felt such happiness to be alive, to be among friends, to hear all that JOY as they sang and danced.

I took off my shoes and sipped my wine and grinned, and I also realized how I have been singing the wrong words to songs for a long long long time. Like, for example, "California Dreaming" -- I always thought they sang, "...and the preacher locked the door..." but it's "...and the preacher like the cold..." huhn...well.

Being a part of this theater community has brought a lot to my life. If it weren't for the theater people of ACT and HART, well, I'd not get out much *laughing*

When GMR and I left, the party was in full swing - and the singing louder and even more boisterous - *laughing* - I wonder how late they all stayed? I wonder if the cows ran off and hid. I wonder if Charles fell and busted his arse again .... haw haw!

I must get back to work on my manuscript. It was good stopping by your places yesterday afternoon before the cast party. I hope to take breaks at least once a week to stop by and say hello, see what all you are up to. If I missed you, oh no! I'll be back . . .

Tomorrow I'll have more on Cleaning Up Our Manuscripts.... until then Enjoy Your Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day!

A Labor Day Question: do you wear white after labor day?

Sounds like an awesome, awesome time! Glad you had so much fun. Eveyrone deserves that, especially after having their nose to the grindstone for so long.

Sounds like some party! Isn't it nice to go out and have good time? Why are those good times so sporadic as we get older? I remember when there was a good party every saturday night...

I enjoyed this blog. From the Charles falling but saving his drink....OMG!! Dropping it would have been "alcohol abuse" as my son once told me. I myself went to a party or two where the partiers may have fallen but certainly made saving the beer "a must"! I heave heard no white after Labor day, but why not break wind....I mean tradition! Enjoy!!

For me there's not a season, nor an event for any specific color. I'll request people to wear white to my funeral:)

Hey Kat! Glad you guys got out and had some fun! I saw where you are at the Baton Rouge book fest, I'm thinking of going to it rather than Sylva because I'm hesitant to come to the mountains in mid-November. I think winter is going to blow in early and ruff! :) xoxo

I'm glad you had such a good time.

White is one of my favorite colors. I wear it all the time - just not white shoes.

I love white shirts and blouses. They don't love me. I avoid white only because I can not for the life of me keep it clean past 2 hours.
Just when I think I am sucessful someone says. "You've got something on your top" (ugh)
