Working....working work work working....carpenters just arrived, so I am off to work in the valley at the library. If you want, just scroll down and read the weekend's posts, and I'd love it if you'd look at the mountaintop removal information below- a horrid terrible thing. I look at my distant mountains and shudder to think something like that would happen to them. I turned to GMR and asked, "What if we came out on our porch and looked at these mountains and they weren't here as we've been seeing them but instead flat and ugly and ruined?" It can't be a thing of "Not in my backyard" it has to be a thing of "Beautiful things should be protected because people will destroy them for what lies inside...." It happens to nature; it happens to people.

I agree. It would be a terrible thing to lose. I think we are destroying some beautiful places. It is a sad thing.
Why would someone cut off the top of a mountain? I don't get it. Grrr...
Makes your stomach turn. :(
Hey Kat! I can't stop thinking about it either! 500 Appalachian mountain tops gone forever!I saw the most beautiful mountain scenery on my drive home today and was even more aware of it after what we heard!

It's a fight we've been having in these parts for far too long. But, we need to keep up the good fight Kat!
You have beautiful mountains! I live in the hills here in FLorida and picked this town because of them--and they are knocking them down and it is really sad. Of course my "hills" are nothing but molehills compared to yours but after PA I needed something!
As someone who also gets to look out her front window every day at gorgeous mountain peaks--I can't comprehend what it would be like without them. It makes me so sad.
