BDCWB Sweetie Give-Away; Moonshine & Santy; music and movies and cold cold cold!

Hi Y'all!

I've been having a good time watching Christmas Specials and doing things around the little log house. It's collllld here and we've been having this artic blast for long enough that I'm feeling a little bit cabin fever. Yesterday I woke up to 1 degrees; this morning 5 degrees. It's now a balmy 8. Lawd! Not even winter yet! We've broken or near-broken a few records here.

Are you staying warm I hope?

I have a few links today.

First, Best Damn Creative Writing Blog ever re-posted the Sweetie Review and along with it a Swag bag give-away. From their blog/review site: 3 AUTOGRAPHED COPIES OF SWEETIE ARE GOING INTO OUR BDCWB HOLIDAY SWAG BAGS! BE SURE TO ENTER EACH DAY FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN

Then, it's that time a year again where I post a link to the little story  Moonshine & Santy Claus(e) - Vagabondage Press/Battered Suitcase published it a few Christmases ago; thank you VP/BS!

And I wanted to embed this You Tube but it wouldn't let me, but I think this part in ELF movie is so cute; Click Here to watch/listen. I really thought I wasn't going to like this movie, but it's sweet and warm feeling after all.

Right now I'm listening to the cd that we all associate with "Charlie Brown Christmas" by Vince Guaraldi.

Psycho Cute Dog and Not Quite Fat Dog are snuggled in their beds. I'm still in my jammies. The cove is quiet. All my Christmas shopping is done.

And, I finally found Christmas List on TV - it came on at 7AM this morning. Why oh why won't they release this DVD? It's one of my favorites . . .

What's one, or some, of your favorite Christmas movies/shows?

(bird photos were taken from my living room window)

Lovely pictures! It's been pretty chilly here, but not near the amount of coldness you're getting. As to favorite movies...I do like ELF(it was cute),Holiday Inn, It's A Wonderful Life, White Christmas, and of course A Charlie Brown Christmas. Guess I'm a sucker for the oldies but goodies!

Happy Holidays, Kat! Yes indeedy, these lovely NC mountains have been seriously chilly!! But, it's a good excuse to stay inside and curl up with "Sweetie" (which is fabulous)!

We tend to go with the oldies, too .. our favorite being "It's a Wonderful Life". I also really like "Ratatouille" which isn't really Christmas but ... I seem to watch at Christmas. :)

Have a lovely holiday, my friend!

Spring showed up past couple days, been in the mid 50's to low 60's. Had frigid cold last month, below zero n highs of 20's.

No snow though, drying up and floating off in clouds of dust.

Throw another log on the fire and enjoy the view from the window,

It’s cold here to.
Hell it’s most cold here.
Our four seasons are Chilly, Cold, Colder and, Was That Summer
Hmmm it has to be It’s a Wonderful life with Jimmy Stewart as my favorite movie followed close Scrooge then the Nightmare Before Christmas.
That would be Black Friday I guess.

The one movie I can’t stand is A Christmas Story.
I know lots of people love this movie but that kid, he irritates me for some reason.
Always did.
Maybe because he reminds me of that kid in the movie Shane.
Might be his father, who knows.

My all time favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. I could watch a million times and it would still be entertaining!

Dear Kathryn, It has been very cold here too and more snow is on the way today. I just can't do cabin fever so I bundle up and get out no matter how bad it gets. At times it is an adventure. As ever be well my dear friend

That is just tooo cold, cher, but it sounds like you're enjoying yourself. It's 70 degrees, here, right now! Yay! I don't really have a favorite Christmas movie. No time to watch movies! :) Stay warm!

We've had warmer than usual temps this season. Love your photos, especially that last red bird in the woods.

I love the pictures of the cardinals! I first saw them two years ago in DC and fell in love with them. We don't have them where I live.

I miss cardinals. I wonder what they don't like about the NW. The snow? The bitter cold? Here in Oregon it is relatively mild and quite wet.

5 Degrees? You call that cold? Well, come to think about it, it's giving me the shivers now!

Favorite Christmas movie? Every Christmas my kids and I make popcorn and watch "The Terminator" and "Rocky and Bullwinkle" cartoons. Who says eccentric families don't know how to have a good time!

Stay warm eat something covered with warm caramel, Kathryn!

I have been hearing that we aren't the only one's getting such cold weather...glad you are enjoying yourself all snuggled in your log house...I didn't think I would enjoy Elf either but it is now one of my favorites to watch..love It's a wonderful life...Charlie Brown Christmas...Miracle on 34th street...I am sure there are more...we are getting more snow today/tonight and after driving in it tonight I am breathing a sigh of relief of being home in my warm home. Stay warm my friend...sending you happy thoughts and much love...XX

Love the bird photos, the cardinals are always so nice to see among the bare trees with their incredible plumage, the males at least.

Keep warm!

I suppose my favorites might seem mundane, but...

It's A Wonderful Life

Miracle On 34th Street

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Charlie Brown Christmas (probably my favorite of favorites)

A Christmas Story (funniest of all)

A Christmas Carol (I especially like the George C. Scott and/or Patrick Stewart versions)

Least favorite? I've always found Frosty The Snowman rather irritating. I know some folks love it, but I've never understood its charm.

Gotta have that Elf at Christmas!!!

When you have a chance, I've a little something for you at my place.

Hello Kathryn - I came by from Kittie's blog. :)

I love your pictures - that bright red bird is amazing with that snowy background. I'm in London and it's -1 here today, certainly feels like it!
