Random Photos Random Links, Random Video

Well, the leaves are changing. Some are already knocked off by rain and by tomorrow we'll have high winds that will knock off even more. It's beautiful, but this won't be one of the more vivid years due to this and that and the other. Still, what a lovely place to live in. The other photos are of a storm that was moving out one morning.

You know, before I came here to blogger, I had a blog through MSN. I stopped using it because it was a pain to work with. But, they've just changed everything to WordPress and I have to say I'm impressed with it. I don't know if I'll leave blogger and go back to the "old" site - I've hardly posted there in the time I've been here-- but I am tempted. It was my old "Howling from my Mountain" blog and I've already upgraded it to WordPress. I'll have to think on this a while!

We're working on the fall issue of Rose & Thorn Journal. The summer issue will be sent to the new Archives Page, so we hope you'll stop by and give a last look at this issue before the fall issue goes live. If you haven't signed up for the newsletter, we hope you will. Tell us what you think. Also, our R&T blog has new posts every Wednesday -we hope you'll stop there, too, and read, subscribe. R&T is on Facebook, and on Twitter.

I'm on Facebook and Twitter too. I don't do the "like" "fan" thing- and in fact I don't like to call reader's "fans" - I think I've said this before, but instead people are friends, colleagues, readers, etc. Besides, I like to interact and use my facebook as a casual place to talk and connect and say hello.

My good friend "Reduce Footprints" always has a great post about making our earth a cleaner and more sustainable and environmentally friendly place. I was going to link her today anyway, and then I saw she had linked me *laugh* - Anyway - go by and visit her site!

And last, I think on my regular wednesday "random photos/links/videos" I'm going to google whatever comes first to my mind and then whatever link(s) comes up first, that's what I'll post here. Today I googled "Peanut Butter and Jelly" and the very first link was to this video: Peanut Butter and Jelly. Lawd.
Then I went to the second link that read: "How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich" - and they proceeded to show a video on how to do that *laughing* - huhn.

That's all for today folks. See you Friday!

I'm in the mood for a slow ride out in the woods. Beautiful sights.

Those are some amazing views you've photographed.

That first video of peanut butter and jelly jarred me awake. Haha.

Okay, and I think I can make a better peanut butter and jelly sandwich than the one in the demonstration.

Crispness of fall brings the beauty of nature as it recycles itself. The old leaves on their journey to mother earth will provide food for little critters and plants below the big trees. It is a joy to watch how mother earth takes care of itself in spite of our interference.
The decaying leaves produce CO2 which the trees will breathe in next summer and bring the lush green of spring.
For a brief moment in the fall of our lives we can enjoy the splendor of autumn.
Nice pictures, I have but golden cottonwoods to gaze at this time of year.

Oh thank you ... what a nice surprise! :)

I always love your photos ... I think if you ever decided not to be a writer, you could be a very successful photographer. Especially love those storm photos! I'm rather sad to hear, though, that the winds will come through tomorrow and blow most of the leaves down ... I don't feel I've enjoyed them for long enough! Ah well ... nature takes it's own course!

Have a great day ... and thanks, again, for the lovely "plug". :)

Wordpress is the way to go now. I know it's a lot of work to readjust, but the SEO is best and google loves Wordpress. Jeannie Campbell contacted me because an agent from the last conference she went to insisted upon it and she wanted more info since I did make the switch. :O)

I love your mountain... especially in the fall. No changing colors here. Green to gone :(

Even though it's beautiful in Florida, I wish I could be in the mountains.

Good luck deciding what to do with your blog. :-)

I think I should keep this blogspot blog for my fun casual posts as I've been doing, and use the wordpress more for "professional" posts, etc...yeah, that sounds like something to think about. Then if blogspot ever kaputs or starts to give me so much more trouble, I'll mosey on over there :-D

Hi Y'all up there!

Kathryn, loved your pictures! We don't see change here in Fl. Are you kidding me, video on peanut butter and jelly sandwich??? (Did they give you any new hints?)

I also love your pictures and am so happy to see fall colors. Not many of those this time of year in Texas!

Ahhhhhh the mountains are beautiful this time of year, aren't they? I've always used Blogger (aside from the blog I had on MySpace). I thought about switching to Wordpress but I felt more of a sense of community over here...maybe that's just because it's what I'm used to?

Love all of the pics! The storm pics are breathtaking and look like paintings! I think that it's a good idea to keep both blogs, one for casual, and one for professional. But no matter where you are, I'll be there, sha!

Great pictures.
I am just happy I don;t have to rake all that up.
I have a facebook account. I have two.
That way I can talk to myself online too.
I have always been on blogger and have never thought of moving.
I hate packing.
